I built up my skills and tools renovating my own homes for many years. In March 2023 I was asked to help out at a large private estate near Stow-on-the-Wold as a contractor for both the gardening and maintenance teams. Since then, my client base and portfolio of work have grown significantly.
Getting a job done to a high standard and cost effectively is important to everyone. A handyman can offer a broad range of skills to solve problems that do not sit cleanly in one particular trade. I regularly check building regulations and know that there are jobs that require a specialist, but there are a great deal that don't and this is where my clients can make a considerable saving. As a handyman, my labour costs can be up to half that of a specialist and having skills in multiple trades means that one man can do the job of many. For example, a leaking water pipe valve will need some basic plumbing skills to replace, but could have caused wood rot and plaster damage that requires carpentry, plastering and painting to fix. I can undertake all aspects of this remedial work and lower the cost for the client.
I'm acclimatised to working in very high-end environments and have a great working relationship with security teams. I work strictly in accordance with NDAs (Non-Disclosure Agreements) and operate in full knowledge of the importance of confidentiality with particular relevance to security.
My portfolio includes the common tasks I'm asked to fulfil in the Cotswolds area, but after a lifetime of home renovation, there's not much I can't fix up. I'm very happy to meet up to discuss possibilities and provide relevant reference contacts and certificates.
